Another craft I found online that will be perfect for Halloween day is this really cute "Out of Treats" sign that I found on 11MagnoliaLane. I loved how simple the idea was and is (hopefully) the best way to avoid doorbells ringing and having to say sorry, or sneak upstairs and turn off all the lights so no one thinks you're home when you run out of candy. I liked the idea of using vinyl in the tutorial but I didn't have any and wanted to not overspend and use what I already had to make it.
I painted the wood plaque gray and used my Silhouette to cut out a decorative board and the words "Out of Treats." I used a font I made myself! :) I used some temporary sticky glue to put the negative pieces onto the plaque (make sure you center it better than I did) and had Jonny spray paint black paint to create the design. Once everything dried, I hot glued the orange ribbon to hang on the door handle and some decorative ribbon and a plastic spider.
I hope it works and keeps the doorbell from ringing. Especially next year when there's probably going to be a sleeping baby!
