I really want traditions for our family. Well, not that I don’t have any from growing up. But, I wanted to do something fun for our family that we can do together so last year I decided that we would give out a handmade ornament to immediate family each year for Christmas. I originally thought friends, too. But how do you narrow down which ones get ornaments and which ones don’t? Also, I pick ideas that are way too big and by the time I make the 13 for family, I’m too pooped to make more. :)
Last year, Jonny and I made paper pinecone ornaments. I was going to post it on my blog but apparently we lost ours. Womp, womp. But I know I have extra supplies in one of my “projects I need to finish” boxes so I’ll be making an additional one and will show you all later. Maybe on Friday; it’ll give me some time. They take a LOT of gluing and patience.
So, what do I do this year? Pick another paper idea that includes lots of gluing and patience. But, it’s not as complex as last years, that’s for sure. I saw the idea in the Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog and fell in love with it instantly. I know I’ve mentioned before that blue and silver are my favorite colors for this time of year and I was excited to use those colors for an ornament. I followed the tutorial from their YouTube video and just changed the colors to my liking (Jonny was exempt from this year’s ornament since he has too much homework).
I think they turned out super cute and love seeing it on my tree! I would say next to my pinecone ornament, but I’m just hoping to get it done before we put all of the decorations away.
Merry Christmas Eve!
