One more week! :)
While my picture shelves are looking a bit plain still (getting pictures printed and finding frames is a free weekend project (and when do I have a free weekend?!), I set my Candy Corn Decor piece on my shelves. It took me a couple days to complete it becuase I kept feeling like it was missing something. I started by taking a foam block and cuting into a triangle shape. Then wrapped the different color felt and hot gluing to the back. I made sure to leave some room to add my batting to give it some shape and roundness. I left some of the batting exposed on the top because I actually used a bag of cheap spider-web (the stringy stuff you decorate with) and I liked the look of it.
After roaming the aisles of Michael's on two separate days, I picked out some orange blulb looking flowers, wheat, black branches and big, black flowers to add to my decor piece. I shoved them gently in place and hot glued where needed. Jonny found that little bug-eyed owl in a bin at Michael's and I just had to add him! I love his crazy eyes!
Next year I may actually hang him on the wall (I added some string to the back for a nail) somewhere fun. But it looks good on my shelf for now!
