Last week I committed publicly to you that I was challenging myself to "10 Weeks No Excuses". Basically stating that for the next two months, I will not gain the average 7-12 pounds during the holiday season. Even with parties, hours in the craft room getting cards made and gifts done and a list of excuses we can come up with to skip workouts or eat unhealthy... I was not going to give myself an excuse to not keeping my health important and at the top of my to do list.
Well, I made it through Week 1!
Let's talk about T25 for a minute here. Alpha Phase. That sounds introductory, right? Well, it's not. I worked my buns off last week. Partnered with the 5 Day Kick Start, I ended up losing 4.5 pounds. YES! That's a third of what people GAIN during this season - and I've LOST them instead!
So far, my favorite work out DVD is the STRETCH. Yeah, the one you do on Sundays as a rest day. Sounds lazy, right? But it's because 1) I'm checking off the "Barely Made It" boxes on my calendar and 2) it makes you stretch muscles you may have never stretched before, especially if you are completely nonathletic like me. Now that I've done all of the workouts at least once, I'll have a better idea of each move and be able to push a little harder this week.
I'm partnering the meal plan with 21 Day Fix - I did a lot of planning to see if I could make it work and this week is my trial week. I'm not a huge fan of all of the recipes in the meal plan (I know, my taste buds are too picky) so I wanted to be able to make it work for me. We'll see how the next few weeks go and if it seems like my adaptation is working, I'll share it!
I will leave you with this... What are YOU doing the next two months to stick to your goals? Leave me a note in the comments so I can encourage you! Or if you need to put a plan together to get through the holidays, let me know in the comments, too.
