I'm so excited to show the first part (of three) of my craft nook. It's pretty picture heavy so make sure to read more after the jump. I was trying to think of what to title this post since I have a lot on this side so I stuck with the 3 most prevelent supplies: Paper, ink and my heat embossing tools. I was really lucky that work was tossing out an old mail sorter that fit 8-1/2 x 11" paper perfectly! I snagged it and put all my card stock in it. I am more of a card maker than a scrapbooker so I always strive to have lots of color in 8-1/2 x 11" on hand.
On top of the mail sorter I keep my 12 x 12" paper and chipboard, paper scraps and ink! Along with my handy Stampin' Up! Color Coach. I like keeping scraps around because they are perfect if you only need a small piece! I especially keep white and cream colors since they're perfect for sentiments and layering. My Stampin' Up! inks are in my SU! ink caddy that I bought on eBay. Gently used but a bit cheaper. But it is getting FULL. Since SU! went through a color refresh, I'm thinking about partin gway with inks that I do not use often and replace them with new colors. :) Same with my markers!
The other half of this section contains a lot more paper, embellishments and tools. The white/clear containers are all of my patterend paper and embellishments sorted by holiday/event/etc. Yep, there was a weekend where I pulled out EVERYTHING and put them into piles to keep things organized. They are PERFECT for when I am working on a specific season or holiday. All you need to have out is one box!
All 12 boxes contain: Christmas/Winter, Valentine's Day/Love/Wedding/St. Patrick's Day, Easter/Spring, Family/Pets, Independence Day/Summer, Travel, Kids/School, Halloween, Thanksgiving/Fall, Outdoors, Me (things I love or remind me of myself) and a box full of Alpha stickers/embellishments. YIKES! A lot of stuff. But it's also great because it reminds me not to buy anymore Halloween paper since the box barely closes...
The small open box on the floor to the left is my Project Life ephemera box! I toss (and try to keep organized by month) different items to scrapbook. When I start a new month, I sort through that box and pull everything out. Finally, the clear box in the middle houses all of my alcohol markers. I am a Letraset fan (and that box is jam packed with markers! You can see I still have a few sets to put in the box. :)
On the left stack of paper boxes, I have two pots (that i found for super cheap that I was going to do something with and never did) that hold my paint brushes and clothespins. I also keep my glue guns and glue there. At some point I'd like to find one that has an on/off switch and get a powercord so it can be easily turned on and stay plugged in. Behind all of that are my crayons, color pencils, water colors, chalk and some acrylic paint.
The last bit I have for this post is what's on top of the right stack of paper boxes. Here is where I keep my tools for heat embossing: my heat gun, powders, coffee filters (when I'm too lazy to get out my little powder tray/funnel), a tool to keep my finger from getting bruned and VersaMark. I also keep extra staplers, blade refills, different kinds of glue and mod podge! I love that I have this awesome stand my uncle built for me and I can keep my heat gun plugged in and ready.
Phew! That wraps up part one. Check back next week to see what I keep in my bookshelves! :)
