Father's Day is just a few weekends away and I've been working on getting my cards ready. I have one from our Make & Take Club last month and I made another using Lawn Fawn's stamp set, Dad's Day.
The base card is a Hero Arts Hero Hues fold card and I layered it with a piece of designer paper from a Studio Calico kit and kraft paper. Before I added the kraft paper, I punched semicircles on the edges to keep a piece of thick twine in place. Pop dots were used because the twine was wrapped around the piece of cardstock.
I stamped the ties in two shades of blue and a shade of brown, cut them out and used pop dots to add them to the card. I was going to add the sentiment to the front of the cards but felt it was a bit crowded, so I opted to space them evenly on the front and add the sentiment on the inside of the card. I love the sentiment "Happy Dad's Day," don't you?
The card looks very clean and simple, as I think most masculine cards should be. Leave the glitter and fluff for feminine cards. ;) I still have a few more Father's Day cards to make, but last months' Paper Pumpkin kit was a Father's Day themed kit so I'm looking forward to putting them together!
