I still cannot believe my little one is one year old. I absolutely love my TimeHop app now that photos of teeny Abigail are now showing up. :) Last month was her Donut Party and it turned out so great! Don't get me wrong... It was a TON of work, but I'm so happy with how it all turned out.
We glued together TWENTY-FOUR, four layered paper donuts cut from the Love You a Latte Cricut cartridge and it took some team work to get them all glued together. Jonny and I also made crepe banners for the dessert table and throughout the house.
You can see in the corner the party favors - pink boxes to take donuts home with a donut eraser and a donut scented LipSmacker! The boxes and the tissue paper to pick up donuts were from Paper Mart. The paper plates I found in the dollar spots at Target!
The pinwheels were borrowed and I put teal paper doilies in the center to match the colors of the party.
At each table, as a centerpiece, there were these strawberry baskets filled with donut holes. They were super popular and a great, easy way to add more to the tables.
The donut flavor tags were made from Stampin' Up! Chalkboard Paper, a punch, toothpicks and my chalkboard pen.
We used lots of different platters and cake stands for all of the donuts (which came from Krispie Kreme, Dunkin' Donuts and The Donuttery). Oh! One of my favorite things on the dessert table were these super cute glass milk cartons filled with white sand to hold the pinwheels. Aren't they super cute?
Another favorite was Abigail's monthly photo banner. "Abigail is One" was also cut from a Cricut. The photos were attached to the crepe banner using mini clothespins. I think it was so fun to see her photos from a few days old to 11 months. We didn't get a 12 month one done because her birthday was the same day as the party and we just did not have enough time in the morning to get it done. :)
Throughout the house and outside, I hung paper lanterns, pom-poms and crepe paper. There was also pink, white and gold balloons sprinkled around the house.
We decorated Abigail's highchair with a "One" banner but she kept thinking it was fun to kick it off, so when it was time for cake, we hung it up behind her. :) I also spent hours the night before making her a felt crown for photos (you know when you're on Pinterest and you're like - Ohhh! That would be so cute! So you spend 3 hours at 10 pm at night trying to figure it out...).
Jonny made Abigail's birthday cake using a donut pan and his own recipe for a strawberry glaze! Her candle was this super cute sparkler that was in the shape of a "1". You can tell below how much she loved her cake. And how much she loves throwing it on the floor...
It was really a great birthday party and I hope it inspires those wanting to have a donut party themselves!
