Last weekend I helped out at Stamp Fever for an event they had for Gourmet Rubber Stamps. They're a cute rubber stamp company that offer a lot of quality, cling stamps. The rep from Gourmet had a trunk sale and since I was there I had to take a look at what she was selling! One of the few stamps I couldn't resist was this Cupcake stamp. I loved the little sprinkles and the cute saying. When I was thinking of a cute card to make for some girly birthdays coming up, I remembered that I came across this really neat bokeh technique and I cased the card to create my own version. It ended up looking a lot like one of the examples, but I just loved it so much I wanted to create my own!
I actually made four of these cards trying to figure out the bokeh technique - trying to not make the colors too deep but not go overboard with too light. I also tried mixing in some mint green ink, but I didn't think it went well with the blues and pinks. It was probably because I was stamping on pink paper.
But my favorite part of the card was adding the glitter to a few of the hearts. It really makes the card pop! I'm obsessed with my Star Dust Stickles lately, I'm going to need to buy some more! :) Have you tried the bokeh technique? Once you play around with the colors, layering and placement, it's a lot of fun!
