Since I'm moving into February, I opened up my Project Life and Scrapbook (main) kits from Studio Calico this past february and am IN LOVE with the colors. I am really feeling the aquas, mints, yellows and grays. So pretty! Above is the double layout with an an insert. I wasn't planning on doing an insert, but I couldn't resist putting all those pictures of my sister in the scrapbook.
For the left page, I mostly used the cards from PL kit but used embellishments for both. The upper left was a piece of gorgeous paper from the scrapbook kit. You can see how it opens at the end of the post with the insert. I also did some "digital scrapbooking" on some of the photos.
With the exception of the many photos of Faith, I didn't have enough photos to fill two pages so I made a scrapbook page of pictures of sunsets I took that week. We had three gorgeous ones that week and I wanted to put them in my book. I just learned that you can create your own mist using acrylic paint, so I used some white paint for some mist. It was much more opaque than I wanted so I may try less water and more paint next time.
Above are my inserts. :) The first two pictures are of the separate insert. I didn't have enough photos of Faith to make it fit well on both sides. So I did photos on one side and pretty paper with some journaling on the back. I think it turned out really cute. The last photo is of the insert on the left page. It flips open and shows a photo of the stage from the play we went to.
I really like how this week turned out. I can definitely see my style coming through on this page. Maybe it's the colors of the paper? Maybe it's just the right amount of photos and mix of a 12 x 12" layout? I don't know. But I really like it. :)
