Happy Birthday, Granddad!
I'm almost always at a loss when it comes to making masculine cards. I want to put Stickles and pearls on everything. So when I knew I needed a male birthday card for my Granddad, I stared at my stamps on my bookshelf for quite a while. I remembered I had these hexagon stamps and I thought, "hexagons are manly, right?" Well, even if they're not, I did my best to make them manly.
A guide I try to keep myself by for masculine cards is: simple and not too many layers. And no glitter. So I stamped three of my favorite hexagon designs into a pattern onto the card, but added just one layer by punching out a hexagon with the sentiment to give the card a little dimension.
I think it turned out pretty neat and I plan to make a few of these (since they're so simple compared to my more elaborate cards) to keep on hand in different colors!
