In the midst of all my re-organizing (I think I'm about 60% done) I took a break & did some crafting. Finding some older Studio Calico kits that I haven't used (cringe) made me want to be creative. So, I took out my Field Guide kit from October 2011 & started working on my Project Life. You can find Week 1 here, here & here at my other blog. Or all of it here at my Facebook page.
As I have been writing notes down to keep on track with what's been going on since I'm literally fifteen weeks behind (yikes) I've been so worried about not really having much to scrap about. But this week was jam packed with photos that I needed to use an insert. Which reminds me that I need to buy some 8-1.2 x 11" inserts. So here is the layout without the insert.
Teal is def in my top 3 favorite colors. So obviously I grasped a hold of that color for my intro & week recap. I had so many photos, it was ridiculous. I'm still trying to figure out my Project Life style & I think when Year 1 is up, it'll be fun to see how much my style has changed over the course of the year. I used different strips of paper & washi tape throughout the first page focusing on the blues & greens with a bit of orange. Afterall, it was Halloween that week.
The second page had some pink in the pictures so I brought in the more pinkish supplies from the kit while still showing the blues & greens. I really love the photo of my Granddad with all of his granddaughters. :)
Finally, the inserts of Week 2. The front is of my dad's visitation & funeral. I tried to kinda rush through this like I wanted to with Week 1. You can see the top of the tag behind the picture of the teddy bear; it has the story of how my dad told my aunt that he didn't want flowers at his funeral. Instead he wanted toys & that they were to be donated to children in need. The other side of the tag talks about the "Breaking of the Wand" ceremony was performed (my dad was a magician). The back side of the insert has some photos we took at Sears since Grandmom & Granddad have a new grandkid (Jonny). I had always wanted to take some awkward photos at Sears & I LOVE LOVE LOVE the photo of my sister & me as well as the cousin photo. We're pretty awesome.
I have a few other things from this kit I made & I'll be back to show them to you later on this week. Like tomorrow.
