An exciting thing when you're cleaning out craft stuff is that you find cards you started years ago and need to finish. I took a card class at a Scrapbook Expo probably three or so years ago with my mom and we learned some cool techniques for coloring on embossed images. I never put the cards together so I took some time this week to finally glue and stamp sentiments on them!
The cards had already a stamped sentiment but I wasn't a huge fan of the sentiment and I am unfortunately in need of some sentiment cards. A family friend and my grandmother on my step-mom's side passed away these past couple of weeks. I don't always keep sympathy cards on hand, and it's sad that I have to use so many so quickly...
The sentiments are from a retired Stampin' Up! set called Best of Greetings. I'm not sure what the stamps are for the rest of the card, because it was so long ago. But we distressed the flowers and backgrounds. I wish I could remember how we made that easel card! Maybe my mom remembers and I'll edit this blog post later. ;)
What's your go to stamp set for sympathy cards? I really liked the sentiment "you're in my thoughts" and I think it's going to be used a lot for these type of cards. Hopefully not a lot, though.
