I don't know if you remember seeing my stack of project boxes filled with unfinished projects... But just showing them off on that blog post inspired me to get working on them. This weekend I pulled out a project kit I purchased from Pinecone Press during last year's So Cal Shop Hop (which was about 11 months ago - yikes!) that I thought was really cool and already had a person in mind of who I wanted to gift them to.
This kit contained directions to make 11 cards but enough cardstock and envelopes to make 12; I made the 11 shown and created 1 of my own. I felt the cards in the directions were kinda plain so I used leftover ribbon in the kit as well as some of my own embellishments to dress them up a bit. There are more pictures after the jump since there are so many cards!
The kit was cute, but I thought some of the cards were a bit funky. Like the one with the reptiles and flowers. But I think adding ribbon and some bling helped them out a lot. My favorite card was the one I made from leftovers (below) although the pineapple one is pretty cute, too.
Have you ever started on a kit and realized you were not a complete fan? What did you do to make it more your style? Did you repurpose the kit?
